The University Darts Association Ireland™ (U.D.A.I. ™) was established in 2005 after an idea one day by the organisation’s founder who was in study one evening in his school, Yeats College, Galway while doing his Leaving Certificate Year.
After attending Third-level Education in September 2005, Stiofán realised there was no Darts Clubs’ nor mind Darts Intervarsity Competitions and he set about establishing All-Ireland University Darts Intervarsities Competitions.
In 2005 there wasn’t a Single Darts Club in any Third-level Institute throughout the Island of Ireland. Now in 2009 there is seven affiliated clubs and the organisation has grown at a steady rate each year. Although, the popularity and growth of Darts has grown on T.V. at Third-level most students enjoy watching it more than participating and that is what the U.D.A.I. ™ has to try and develop Third-Level Darts in the future and it took 2 years to organise the initial Intervarsity Darts Competition.
